Bowls of French Onion Soup

French Onion Soup And Chicken Pot Pie Make For The Most Comforting Fusion
If you want to turn French onion soup from an appetizer into a main dish, follow the lead of MegaMenu recipe developer Erin Johnson and her slow cooker French onion chicken.
The dish is a fusion of French onion soup and chicken pot pie. Since it utilizes a slow cooker, the total cooking time is around 6 hours.
Onion, thyme, and chicken simmer in beef broth and sherry for six hours in the slow cooker, where they become tender, caramelized, and flavorful.
Once everything is thoroughly cooked, the chicken comes out, and a cornstarch slurry gets added to thicken the broth. The chicken is then topped with gruyère cheese.
