  • Rai's love affair with food started over a decade ago when she stumbled upon a 1962 Betty Crocker cookbook and started sifting through the cake recipes.
  • A believer in both haute cuisine and humble dishes, she has equal affection for pineapple casserole, fried plantains, and foie gras.
  • She is the proud owner of an ever-growing Depression glass collection that comes in handy for impromptu dinner parties.

Rai Mincey started her food writing journey in 2017 with a little blog called The Iron Sister. That blog became an editorial assisting gig that became a three-year stint at Allrecipes. She's edited low-carb cookbooks, created blog posts for hospital dining systems, and traveled the world in search of incredible bites.

Rai earned her B.A. in communication management from The University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2019.
